Where Local Heritage Comes Alive
WELCOME TO CREETOWN HERITAGE MUSEUM
Creetown is a small village located in beautiful unspoilt Wigtownshire, we are just off the A75.
At Creetown Heritage Museum we have preserved and displayed the local history of the village through photographs, artefacts, audio and visual presentations, and also through activities for children.
The Natural History section has large screens showing recorded CC TV of our local squirrels and peregrine falcons.
The Heritage Museum covers 150 years of Creetown history with several hundred photos and artefacts on permanent display.
As well as the story of Creetown granite you can:
- Visit the “War Room” to see what villagers did through two world wars
- Find out about the “church in a railway carriage”
- See examples of the brilliant work of a local wood carver
- Test your memory on our “guess what?” table
There are also various activities for children, designed for different age groups.
